Imagine
the amount of confusion that would exist in medical insurance
companies as well as hospitals if they had to go through pages
and pages of information regarding claimants and patients respectively.
It would be a killing task. The only benefit would be that there
would be that many more job openings.
Medical
coding requires one to convert all medical records into codes.
These codes are universal, with some having their own additional
modified ones. Usually the coding professional is provided with
software containing the codes to ease out the tedious task and
also maintain high level of precision.
Medical
coding can be taken up as a fulltime job, or alternatively on
an assignment basis to be worked at home. This type of job pays
well, and people in the field that as far as income goes - sky
is the limit. It is not essential for one to hail from a medical
background for such a task, as it's not about detailed medical
knowledge as it's more about data conversion.
